MARIONVILLE-A memorial service for the immediate family will be held at a later date for J Bruce Davis, 86, Marionville, who died Tuesday, April 30, 2013.
Arrangements are under the direction of Friskel Funeral Home, Frontenac, Kan.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Missouri Department of Conservation, P.O. Box 180, Jefferson City, Mo. 65102.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Bouser Davis, Marionville; a sister, Ruth Davis Parnell, Joplin; two daughters, Cathy Davis Walser, Kansas City, Mo. and Janice Van Camp; a son-in-law, Joseph Van Camp, Aurora, three grandchildren, Marcy Stillings, J.B. Van Camp and Andrew Van Camp and four great-grandchildren, Amanda Burnfin, Ashley Stillings and Carsen and Olivia Van Camp.
Mr. Davis was born in Newport to John and Reva Davis, and was reared in Boston, Mo. He was a lifetime Barton County resident. He graduated from Lamar High School and then served in the Army. He spent part of his service teaching mathematics classes to soldiers in Washington, D.C.
He worked for Finley Engineering for 30 years. In 2002 he received the Barton County SWCD Wildlife Management Award for exceptional leadership and devoted service. He was known in the community for his kindness. He was a private, deeply moral man.
