GOLDEN CITY-Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Golden City United Methodist Church for Larry W. Snodgrass, 66, Golden City, who died suddenly on Thursday, May 16, 2013. Pastor Christine Iannucilli officiated. Musical selections were “Majesty” and “See You Again”. Arrangements were under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar. Survivors include a son, Eric Snodgrass, Carl Junction; a daughter, Nikki Probert, Belton; four granddaughters and his companion, Christy Silvers. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Selma June Champlin. Mr. Snodgrass was born Sept. 1, 1946, in Liberal, to Vernon Clare and Viola Florence (Lamke) Snodgrass. He was a graduate of Liberal High School. He continued his education and graduated from Central Methodist College in Fayette. He taught music and psychology for the Golden City School District for more than 20 years. He then went to work for Golden City as city clerk, for the next 20 plus years. He loved music and could play any instrument. He was the organist for the Golden City Presbyterian Church for 25 years. In his younger years he sang with the Gospel Edition Quartet. He had wonderful penmanship and was often called upon to do the calligraphy for many certificates. He was a member of the Golden City United Methodist Church.
