MINDENMINES-Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma, Kan. for Bob McKay, 85, rural Mindenmines, who died at 9:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his home. Burial was in Rosebank Cemetery at Mulberry, Kan.
Memorial contributions may be made to the D.O.G.S. Foundation Liberal High School Scholarship Fund, in care of the funeral home at 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kan. 66712.
Survivors include his wife, Patty McKay, of the home; two daughters, Janet Vale and husband Russell, Warrenton and Jeanne Hoover and husband Lynn, rural Mindenmines; two sons, Robert B. McKay and wife Linda and Jay McKay and wife Tricia, both of rural Mindenmines; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jessie Repovich and Mary Panizzi.
Mr. McKay was born Feb. 17, 1928, west of Liberal, to Frank and Lona (Phillips) McKay. He was a farmer and cattleman, who lived all his life west of Liberal on the farm where he was born. He was a 1946 graduate of Liberal High School.
He married Lois E. Cole on June 27, 1948, at Kansas City, Mo. She died Nov. 17, 1997. He married Patty Sechrist Fast on Feb. 14, 1999, in Arkansas.
