LAMAR-Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Daniel Funeral Home for Lyman Wakefield “Dub” Kentner, 89, Lamar, who died Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Barton County Memorial Hospital. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, with full military honors.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Kentner, of the home; a son, Don and Shelley Kentner, Liberal; a daughter, Deborah Kentner, Lamar; a grandson, Kyle Wakefield Kentner, Liberal; a brother, Gary Kentner, Seattle, Wash. and four sisters, Erma McGuire, Golden City, Martha Maxwell, Carthage, Joan Tierney, Gladstone and Mary Lollar, Durant, Okla.
He was preceded in death by a brother, J.C. Kentner and a sister, Phyllis McGuire.
Mr. Kentner was born Jan. 14, 1924, at Golden City, to Lyman Wakefield Kentner Sr. and Mary Evalyn (Hastings) Kentner. He graduated Golden City High School and then served his country in the United States Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He worked many years as a dozer operator for Murray Construction in Carthage.
He married Kathryn Roberta Rose on Jan. 17, 1955, at Lamar.
