LAMAR-Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell, Iowa for Dale Shepley, 88, Lamar, a former Cambridge, Iowa resident, who died Friday, June 7, 2013, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Pastor Tom Lee will officiate. Burial will be in the Cambridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Dorcas Society in Cambridge.

Survivors include three sons, David Shepley, Council Bluffs, Iowa; Gary Shepley and wife Judy, Cambridge, Iowa and Craig Shepley and wife Roylene, Boone, Iowa; a daughter, Connie Baker and husband Rex, Huxley, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Corey Shepley, Angie Mackerman, Monica Comstock, Genny Shepley, Cybil Hines, Rachel Baker, Mitch Baker, Sarah Hayes and Brooke Tunink; 25 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Blaine Shepley and wife Carol, Georgia, Neil Shepley, Monroe, Iowa and Delbert Shepley and wife Judy, Colfax, Iowa and two sisters, Helen Smith and Delores Nichols, both of Colfax, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Noel Shepley in 2012; a brother, Jack and two sisters, Iris and Gladys.
Mr. Shepley was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Northwood, Iowa, to Arthur and Ruth (Abbli) Shepley. He served in the United States Navy from 1941 until his honorable discharge in 1945. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners and the Cambridge Legion. He worked for John Deere in Ankeny, Iowa as a machinist for 37 years and raised livestock.
He married Jacqueline Walker on July 3, 1946, in Baxter, Iowa. She died in 2005.
