LAMAR- Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Daniel Funeral Home for Lela Faye Madison, 90, Lamar, who died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Barton County Memorial Hospital. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Morehead Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell Presbyterian Church or a charity of the donor’s choice, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles, Jr. and Linda Madison, Lamar; a daughter, Barbara Molinaro, Eaton Park, Fla.; a grandson, Mike Madison, Lamar; a granddaughter, Christy and Casey Pile, Lamar; three great-grandchildren, Mikayla Madison, Charlize and Callie Jo Pyle; a brother, Frank Lutes, East Rochester, Ohio; a sister, Doris Dennis, Auburn, Calif., and an extended family.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Leonard Frank Madison; three sisters and a brother.
Mrs. Madison was born May 11, 1923, in Carroll County, Ohio, to Frank and Mary Ann (Morrison) Lutes. She served in the U.S. Army from 1943 through 1945 during World War II. After she and her husband completed their military duties, they made their home and reared their family near Girard, Kan. In 1967 they purchased a Barton County farm, east of Lamar, where they worked together until retiring and moving to Lamar in the early 1990s.
In addition to being a farm wife, she had worked for the U.S. Census Bureau. She was a member of Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Friendship Needle Club and was a lifetime member of the Lamar American Legion Post and Auxiliary.
She married Charles L. Madison, Sr. in October of 1944 at Shreveport, La. He died June 14, 1998.
