LAMAR-Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Daniel Funeral Home for Selma Jean Clawson, 86, Lamar, who died at her son’s home in Walnut Grove on Thursday, June 27, 2013, after a battle with cancer. Burial will follow at Newport Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include four sons, Howard and Marilyn Clawson, Lamar, Kenneth and Paula Clawson, Jerico Springs, Leland and Linda Clawson, Spokane, Wash. and Roger and Christa Clawson, Walnut Grove; a sister, Maxine LeGrand, Lamar; 10 grandchildren, Angela Morgan, Keith Clawson, Brian Clawson, Scott Clawson, Amy McMillin, Benjamin Clawson, Daniel Clawson, Christopher Clawson, Sarah Conner, Katie Clawson and eight great-grandchildren, Jade, Lauren, Madison, Devon, Drew, Gatlyn, Gracyn and Sawyer.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Margretta Jean Clawson in 1948, and two brothers, Charles and Carl Wilkins.
Mrs. Clawson was born July 9, 1926, at Bolivar, to Charles Abner Wilkins and Grace Elizabeth (Brines) Wilkins. She was a 1945 graduate of Golden City High School. She worked for 25 years as a cook for Truman Manor (Truman Healthcare Center) and then was a caretaker for Betty Thiebaud for 10 years. She was a past member of Women’s Aglow and traveled extensively with that organization.
She married James Loren Clawson on April 12, 1947. He died Dec. 4, 1983.
