CLAUDINE CROCKETT

LAMAR-Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Daniel Funeral Home for Claudine Lee (Dickey) Crockett, 90, Lamar, who died Saturday, July 6, 2013. Burial will be in Oakton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oakton United Methodist Church Building Fund, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include six children and their spouses, Leon and Arleta Crockett, Ft. Worth, Texas and Jerry and Karen Crockett, Merle and Mona Crockett, Sandy and Bill Talbott, Randy and Kristina Crockett and Norma Crockett, all of Lamar; a sister, Edth Sitton, Lamar; 18 grandchildren, Diane Levesque, Christopher Crockett, Stacy Webb, Mike Crockett, Amy Engelage, Anne Crockett, Billy Ray Talbott, Cassie Crowl, Shane Talbott, Rachel Nance, Seth Talbott, Aaron Talbott, Tarah Stump, John Crockett, Lisa Crockett, Katie Bull, Rustan Crockett and Kelly Crockett; 34 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a large extended family.
Mrs. Crockett was born July 20, 1922, to Chauncey and Bessie (Walker) Dickey. Because her mother died shortly after her birth, Claudine was reared by Mr. and Mrs. Wade Reynolds and resided in the Bushnell community.
After getting married she was a homemaker and mother, living with her husband in the Oakton community, where they farmed and from 1958 through 1964 owned and operated the Oakton General Store. Mrs. Crockett moved with her husband to Lamar in 1964 and worked for a short time at the Blue Top Café and at Big Smith for a number of years. She moved to Hot Springs, Ark. to care for her father and worked as a machine operator at Lake Catherine Shoe Factory for 12 years.
After moving back to Lamar in 1984, she was an active volunteer, helping whenever and wherever she saw a need and was recognized as Lamar B&PW Club Woman of the Year in 1989. She was a member of Oakton United Methodist Church.
She married Claude Crockett on Feb. 28, 1942, at Mt. Vernon. He died in 1965. She married Barney Crockett on Jan. 28, 1985. He died in 1986.
