LAMAR-A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church for Judy Kay Jordan-Probert, 52, Lamar, who died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at her home, following a battle with cancer. Rev. Galen Friedrichs will officiate. A private family burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Golden City.
Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, in care of the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Buddy Probert, of the home, and two stepsons, Alex Probert and Grant Probert.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Randy Jordan.
Mrs. Jordan-Probert was born July 2, 1961, at St. Louis, and was adopted by Venson Willy and Erma Lee (Coles) Jordan. After graduating from Lamar High School she went to Kansas City to become a respiratory therapist. She then went to Burge School of Nursing in Springfield and graduated in 1985 as a Registered Nurse. She had worked at Freeman Hospital and Barton County Memorial Hospital. She also worked as a traveling nurse, working in Los Angeles, Calif., New Orleans, La., Reno, Nevada, and in Honolulu, Hawaii. She had most recently worked at Barton County Health Department and St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Carthage, as long as her health would allow. She also took care of her mother, Erma, until her death in 2010.
She married Lee Kenneth “Buddy” Probert on July 2, 2011, at Makapu’u Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii.
