LAMAR-Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Daniel Funeral Home for Dorothy Alma Combs, 98, Lamar, who died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at her home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be held before the service time, beginning at 10 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oakton United Methodist Church or Hospice Compassus, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include three sons, Jimmie Dale Combs and wife Sue, Sikeston, Johnnie Lee Combs and wife Brenda, Raytown, and Charlie Combs and wife Theresa, Lamar; two daughters, Coleen Calton, Allen, Texas, and Terri Elswick and husband Lonnie, Middeltown, Md.; three sisters, Bernice Workman and Ruby Hamm, both of Decatur, Ill. and Lillie Johnson, Lamar; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Glen, Clyde, Howard and Ivan Plain and a sister, Eunice Quarles.
Mrs. Combs was born Feb. 19, 1915, at Moweaqua, Ill., to Charles Mason and Millie Amelia (Herring) Plain. She was a retired merchant and business owner of Jim & Charlie’s Market for 20 years. She had also worked as a nurse at Barton County Memorial Hospital for 13 years. She attended the Oakton United Methodist Church and was a member of the Barton County Eagles.
She married Jimmy Combs on Oct. 14, 1939, at Stockton. He died in 1979. She was married to Rex Housh for 18 years before his death in 2010.
