LAMAR-Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Golden City for Wynona Lee Pennell, 83, Lamar, who died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Truman Healthcare. Minister Leon Bishop officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Roy Montgomery, Richard Bronson, Ethan Pennell, Rusty Pennell, Aaron Pennell and Jeremy Loveall. Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy Pennell, Chase LeGrand, Jory Pennell, Michael Pennell and Mark Pennell.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Survivors include three sons, William Pennell and wife Marcia, Iantha, Robert Pennell and wife Verna, Lamar, and Dale Pennell, Lamar; a daughter, Peggy Burns, Lamar; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Jim Bishop and Roy Bishop; four sisters, Lois Smith, Wanda Ragland, Jeraldine Carter and Cheryl Bishop, and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by a son, Franklin Leroy Pennell, Jr.; a sister, Lavona Ison and a brother, Charles Bishop.
Mrs. Pennell was born Nov. 25, 1929, in Golden City, to Ira and Mary (Heath) Bishop. She worked hard during her lifetime, both inside and outside the home. Besides rearing her own children, she also helped rear and housed many other children, earning the nickname of “Granny”. She was the salvage lead for O’Sullivan Industries in Lamar, retiring in May of 1995.
