RURAL LIBERAL-A memorial celebration will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oskaloosa Free Will Baptist Church in Liberal for Eugene Doss Sadler, Sr., 80, rural Liberal, who died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan. Pastor Chris Bearden will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oskaloosa Free Will Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home at 1201 Broadway, Lamar, Mo. 64759

Survivors include two sons, Eugene Sadler Jr. and wife Gloria, Arvada, Colo. and Russell Sadler and wife Sherry, Jefferson City; a daughter, Candace Chumley and husband Jerry, Little Elm, Texas; four sisters, Emma Dabbs, Norman, Okla., Janette Davis and husband Jack, Pocatello, Idaho, Dorthy Beck and Dema Tomerlin and husband Doug, all of Georgetown, Texas; seven grandchildren, Curt, Erin, Lisa, Charlotte, Matthew, Justin and Andrea; three great-grandchildren, Brayden, Coy Eugene and Isabelle, and a large extended family.
Mr. Sadler was born Oct. 19, 1932, at Tuckerman, Ark., to Alvie and Violia (Doss) Sadler. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver for more than 30 years, many of those spent as a feeder driver for UPS. He was a woodworker, creating cedar chests and other furniture projects for family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing and raising rabbits. He was an active member of Oskaloosa Free Will Baptist Church.
