Mrs. Denny was born May 23, 1924, in Moran, Kan., to Leota and Calvin Hart. She spent most of her school years in Iola, Kan. She formerly lived in Iantha, but had been a resident of Spring River Christian Village in Joplin; first in the duplexes for 17 years and then independently at the Congregational Building for the last two years.

She was not only a loving wife and mother, but also a true volunteer in the United Methodist Church at Iantha for nearly 50 years, the Liberal school and later the Spring River Christian Village (SRCV) Auxiliary, volunteering many hours as a seamstress. She also enjoyed sharing her sewing talent by making many gifts for family and friends.

She married Verne Denny on April 13, 1944. He died Sept. 10, 2011.
