GOLDEN CITY-Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Green Field Cemetery in Jerico Springs for Dorothy May Jenkins, 83, Golden City, who died at 2:25 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at her daughter’s residence in Springfield. Rev. Lonnie Pennell will officiate. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pugh Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of donor’s choice, in care of the funeral home.
Survivors include her children, Carol Wollard and husband John, Springfield, Bryan Jenkins, Lamar, Danny Jenkins and wife Debbie, Golden City and Teresa Keller and husband Nigel, Joplin; her brother, Athol Ray Clements, New Braunfels, Texas, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Everett, Francis, Howard and Richard Clements and infant twin brothers and sisters Gertie Marie Duncan and Mary Katherine Ring.
Mrs. Jenkins was born April 6, 1930, in Lamar, to Lester and Litha (Oldham) Clements. She spent her entire life living in the Golden City/Lamar area. She married Walter Eldon Jenkins on May 28, 1947, in Girard, Kan. She had many jobs during her life including working at Big Smith and Gray’s Processing, baking pies for Cooky’s and Lockwood restaurants and being a home health care worker. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, north of Golden City.
