MARSHALL-A graveside service was held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Lake Cemetery in Lamar for Cortez Enloe Waters Jr., 83, Marshall, who died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013. Minister Lonnie Pennell officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.
Pallbearers were sons and grandsons, with music of “Old Rugged Cross” and “Amazing Grace”.

Survivors include sons, Cortez “Corkey” Waters III and wife Barbara, Osage Beach, John Waters and wife CJ, Marshall and Arthur Shinabarger and wife Cindra, Lee’s Summit and grandchildren, JL Waters, Marshall, AJ, Rachael, Jameson and Rebecca Waters, Lee’s Summit, Kim Nicholas and Michael Costello.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nina Costello, and a brother, Lee Roy “Doc” Waters.
Mr. Waters was born Dec. 24, 1929, in Jefferson City, to Cortez Sr. and Frances (Cummings) Waters. He was a self made man. He served his country in the Army and then came home and worked hard. He had a mechanical gift and worked on cars. His brother drove racecars that he built and he was a member of the Racing Fraternity.
He married Elizabeth Kincade in 1954, in Miami, Okla. She preceded him in death.
