KENNETT-A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett for Elden S. Selves, 85, Kennett, who died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013. Rev. Missy Rose officiated. A reception followed at the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a son, Stewart Selves, Kennett and a daughter, Lou Ann Selves, Memphis, Tenn.
Mr. Selves was born March 23, 1928, in Ewing to Rev. Henry Arthur Selves and Minnie Davis Selves. A retired hospital administrator, he earned a degree in Education and major in Mathematics from Southeast Missouri State University. He taught school and worked as an accountant for many years and enjoyed an additional 20 years in hospital administration, including 12 years at Barton County Memorial Hospital. He also served 22 years in the Missouri Army National Guard.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Kennett City Council, Kennett Chamber of Commerce, Kennett Jaycees, Rotary Club, Delta Children’s Home and the Boys and Girls Club of the Bootheel. Former associations included the Missouri Hospital Association, Missouri Osteopathic Hospital Association, Southwest Council of Hospital Administrators, Corporate Assembly of St. Louis Blue Cross and the board of Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center.
