SHELDON-Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Friday at Saint James Cemetery in Milford for Betty Ruth Blanchard, 81, Sheldon, who died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Barton County Memorial Hospital in Lamar. Minister Don Crockett officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.

Survivors include a son, Stan Blanchard and wife Shelia, Sheldon; two daughters, Kathy Blanchard, Lamar, and Kristy Blanchard, of the home; two stepchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dean Owen and wife Loretta and Monte Owen and wife Pauline and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Blanchard was born Aug. 30, 1932, in Sheldon, to Harold and Wilhma (Ford) Owen. After getting married she and her husband farmed and then started a used farm equipment business in 1980 until the May 4, 2003 tornado. She was an accomplished cook, seamstress and embroiderer.
She married Irvin Blanchard on March 31, 1956, in Lamar. He preceded her in death.
