MAURICE JOSEPH CUNDIFF

LAMAR-Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oakton Cemetery for Maurice Joseph Cundiff, 78, Lamar, who died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013. Rev. Galen Friedrichs will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Henderson, Vernon Cliffman, Jim Marquis and Scott Castle.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Cundiff; five daughters, Melody Cundiff, Saundra Wehmeyer and husband Gary, Sue Renwick and husband Pat, Sally Phipps and husband John and Sherry Shaw; four sons, Bill Erwin Jr. and wife Janet, Jim Erwin and wife Vickie, Rick Erwin and wife Ronda and Russ Erwin and wife Marian; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and a brother, Marion Cundiff.

 

Mr. Cundiff was born June 29, 1935, in Lamar, to Joe and Hazel (Kremp) Cundiff. He was an agriculture equipment mechanic, working for John Deere and Hartzler’s in Nevada, Purinton’s in Lamar and farmed with his parents. He was a member of the C S Oliver Hart Par Assn. and a member of many tractor pull clubs. His passion for toy tractors became a business called “SOMO Parts” from 1986-2006. He bought and sold toys and parts, attended many shows and owned an extensive toy tractor collection.

 

He served in the National Guard for nine years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

 

He married Charlotte Hughes Erwin on Sept. 6, 1984, in Harrison, Ark.
