LAMAR-No services are planned for Jack H. Stanley, Jr., Lamar, who died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at his home, following a lengthy illness. He made a courageous decision in choosing to die at home.
Arrangements were under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.
Survivors include a brother, Charles “Chuck” Stanley, Girard, Kan.; four sisters, Joyce Philips, Pittsburg, Kan., Christy Pearce, Vinita, Okla., Patty Stanley, Hemet, Calif. and Kathy Medina, Glendale, Ariz.; a half-sister, Rose Rodriguez, Plantation, Fla.; five daughters, Beth, Carrie, Amber, Alicia and Amy, most of them married and living in the near Midwest area; too many grandchildren to name as wall as many nieces and nephews and his constant companion for nearly 15 years, Elaine McAdams, Lamar.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Prince Stanley in 2002; his father, Jack H. Stanley Sr. in 2009 and his stepmother, Felice Stanley in 2012.
Born in Wichita, Kan. in 1957, he attended school in Pittsburg and eventually worked for his father as a skilled automotive mechanic for many years, in which vocation he served and befriended many interesting people from all walks of life.
Although he had resided in Lamar for only a few months, he was very serene there because kind, helpful neighbors and business acquaintances surrounded him. Jack was a kind, gentle and generous man, loved by many and will be mourned and missed by all.
