LAMAR-Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Daniel Funeral Home for Billie Ray Parnell, 67, Lamar, who died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Truman Healthcare Center. Darrell Doss will officiate. Burial will be in Pippenger Cemetery in Golden City.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 48 years, Marilyn Lee Parnell; a son, Brian Parnell and wife Amy, Parkersburg, W.V.; a daughter, Shannon Lane and husband Roy, Lamar; three sisters, Donna Jones and husband David, Lamar, Verna Jones and husband Martin, Lockwood and Karen White, Lamar; three grandsons, Austin Parnell, Cade Parnell and Isaac Parnell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joann Willit.
Mr. Parnell was born Feb. 15, 1946, at Lamar, to Billie Raymond and Norma Irene (Sullivan) Parnell. He was a 1964 graduate of Lockwood High School. He had worked as a machine setter and trainer for O’Sullivan Industries and was also a cattle farmer. He loved hunting and fishing and spending time with family. He was also a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
He married Marilyn Lee Taylor on March 25, 1966.
