LAMAR-Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lamar First Baptist Church for David Paul Gordon, Jr., 79, Lamar, who died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Barton County Memorial Hospital. Rev. Robb Hodson officiated. Burial was in Lake Cemetery, with full military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Gordon; six sons, William Gordon, Oklahoma, Allen and Glenda Gordon, Oklahoma City, Okla., David and Daylene Gordon and Scott and Kristi Gordon, all of Lamar, Ralph Gordon, Dallas, Texas and Shawn and Michelle Gordon, Lamar; two daughters, Isa Gordon-West and Pamela Pitts, both of Lamar; four brothers, Denzel Gordon, Lamar, Jim and Armeta Potter, Phillipsburg, Lister and Judy Potter, Lamar and Clayton and Queta Alumbaugh, Houston, Texas; 25 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael Gordon.
Mr. Gordon was born Nov. 28, 1934, at Lamar, to David Paul Sr. and Isa (Logan) Gordon. He entered the United States Army, serving in a tank division, infantry division and as an MP. Returning home, he worked as a tool and die maker for Cessna Aircraft at Wichita, Kan., until he was disabled in 1974.
He attended Lamar First Baptist Church, enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting coins, stamps and postcards. He loved going to auctions, but he especially loved his grandkids and great-grandkids.
He married Frances E. Perry on June 3, 1961, at Wichita, Kan.
