RURAL LAMAR-A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at Squires Lakeside Cemetery near Milford for Harley E. Russell, 76, rural Lamar, who died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at his home.
Memorial contributions may be made to his family, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Jean, of the home; a stepdaughter, Kelli Carmona, Horn Lake, Miss.; a brother, Conley Russell and wife Sheryl, Silverdale, Wash.; two sisters, Lois Kraft and husband Jim, Tulsa, Okla. and Retha Squires and husband C.L., Lamar; three step-grandchildren, Taylor Jean Carmona, Matthew Shephard and Joseph Shephard and several nephews and nieces.
Mr. Russell was born Aug. 6, 1937, at Las Cruces, N.M., to Herman and Loretta (Fillmore) Russell. He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years, retiring to Oklahoma in 1998 to care for his parents. His father passed away in 2001 and he continued to care for his mother until her death in 2007. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Russell.
He married Jean Alice Thurber on Dec. 22, 2009, at Lake Village, Ark. They moved to Barton County where he enjoyed fishing and outdoor Missouri wildlife. He was an active member and trustee of Barton County Eagles No. 4405.
