JASPER-Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Weng Funeral Chapel for Gwendolyn D. Foster, 89, Jasper, who died Monday, March 24, 2014, at her home. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons or Jasper First Baptist Church building fund.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene Foster; two sons, Larry Foster, Carthage and Bob Foster, Bentonville, Ark.; two daughters, Gwenda Greer, Maxwell, Iowa and Donna Waggoner, Webb City; a daughter-in-law, Karen Foster, Joplin; a half-brother, Stephen Wheeler, Colorado; a sister, Pat Norwood, Carthage; a half-sister, Gladys Recki, New Mexico; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Foster was born Sept. 3, 1924, in La Junta, Colo., to Emmett and Cecile (Pugh) Wheeler. She was a homemaker and a dairy farmer. She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church for 50 years and then joined the First Baptist Church of Jasper. She was a former Sunday school teacher and a 4-H project leader.
She married Eugene Foster on Nov. 20, 1942, at Carthage.
