INDEPENDENCE-Graveside services were held at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Mount Washington Cemetery for Paul L. Runion, Sr., 83, Independence, who died Thursday, March 27, 2014, surrounded by his family and friends. His son-in-law, Rev. Jim Richards, officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence.

Survivors include his wife, Betty (McGuire) Runion, of the home; a daughter, Paula Joiner and husband John, Spring, Texas; two sons, Paul Runion Jr., Independence, Tom Runion and wife Kristy, Lamar, a daughter, Susan Richards and husband Jim, Kingsville; 15 grandchildren and additional great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Runion and a sister, Darlene Gardner.
He was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Kendahl Runion and Amy Robinson; two sisters and two brothers.
Mr. Runion was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Lamar. He owned and operated Accurate Scale Company for over 50 years. He was a member of Colbern Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and reading his Bible.
