FORT SCOTT, Kan.- A private family burial will be held at a later date for JoAnn Mayhugh, 90, Fort Scott, formerly of Prescott, who died Monday, April 27, 2020. Burial will be in Littel Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schneider Funeral Home.

Survivors include a sister, Betty Gideon, Lamar, Mo.; a nephew, Dr. David Gideon and wife Kay, Palm City, Fla.; a niece, Connie Zimmerman and husband Ralph, Springfield, Mo. and very special friends, Tony and Mary Beth Fornelli, Prescott.

Mrs. Mayhugh was born September 27, 1929, in Lockwood, Mo., to Clifford and Zeta Jo (Boyd) McBride. She was a graduate of Fort Scott High School and was employed for a few years at the Sunflower Army ammunition plant in DeSoto, Mo., during World War II. She was also employed at the Western Insurance office in Fort Scott.

She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed reading and traveling with her husband in their motor home and spending summers in Montana.

She married Roy Mayhugh on December 1, 1949 at Bentonville, Ark. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2014.
