CHARLES RAYMOND SHAVER

LIBERAL- Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar for Charles Raymond Shaver, 77, Liberal, who died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery in Joplin.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to Smile Train, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife Vicki; a son, George Shaver, Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Barbara Poindexter and husband Shane and Misty Osterdyk and husband Troy, all of Carthage; one brother, Gerald Shaver, Lamar; six grandchildren, Holly Wohlenhaus, Lydia Smith, Mariah Russell, Breanna Osterdyk, Audrey Osterdyk and Jeremy Shaver, along with nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Robert "Bob" Shaver; two brothers, Paul and Wesley Shaver and one sister, Mary Joanna Breedlove.

Mr. Shaver was born January 1,1943, in Liberal, to George Buel Shaver and Mary Barbara Trautwein. On July 18, 1971, he married Vicki Jo Wingrave in Liberal.

Mr. Shaver owned Shavers Restoration, where he restored antique cars, gas pumps and vintage motorcycle horns. His appreciation of antiques provided him the freedom to be involved and enjoy being with his family and grandchildren, which were his first true loves.
