JERICO SPRINGS- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar for Alfred Laroy Winkler, 79, Jerico Springs, who died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, at his home, after a long illness. Burial will follow at Greenfield Cemetery in Jerico Springs.

Friends may pay their respects and sign the guestbook on Monday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years; one brother, Darrell Winkler, Jerico Springs; two sisters, Peggy Sangster, Lockwood and Betty Jane Moore and husband David, Jerico Springs; several nieces and nephews, as well as a large extended family.

Mr. Winkler was born Jan. 14, 1942, in Lamar, to Alfred Henry Rudolf and Wanda Lee (Farmer) Winkler. He graduated from Lockwood High School in the class of 1960. On December 15, 1963, he married Mary Ann Bass in Lamar. He served in the United States Army from January 1967 to December 1968.

Mr. Winkler worked as a lineman for Barton County Electric for 30 years and was a member of Young Farmers. He served on the road board for 37 years, was township clerk for 32 years and was on the Produce Exchange board in Golden City.
