LIBERAL- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar for Betty Jean Madison, 73, Liberal, who died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, at her home, after a short illness.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Russell; three daughters, Angela Lowrie and Darbi Bilbo, both of Pittsburg, Kan. and Jessica Madison, Golden City; two brothers, Don Taylor, Liberal and Paul Helms, Mindenmines; three grandchildren, Lacy Lowery, Joplin, Samuel Etchenson, Konawa, Okla. and Jona Colfield, Golden City and four great-grandchildren, Abigayle and Junior Lowery, Joplin and Wyatt Etcheson and Paisley Mae Cole, Konawa, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Helms; one sister, Mary St. Clair and a son-in-law, Wyatt J. Etchenson.

Mrs. Madison was born July 6, 1947, in Pittsburg, Kan. and graduated from Liberal High School with the class of 1965.

She married Russell Kane Madison Jr. on Dec. 22, 2001, in Mindenmines. She was a homemaker and loved horses, animals and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended the Christian Church of Mindenmines.
