SALEM, Ark.- Funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Cherokee Village for Spencer Paul Matty, 27, Salem, who died Monday, May 31, 2021.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Lake Cemetery in Lamar, Mo.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, Mo.

Survivors include his parents, Mike and Michelle Matty, Salem; two brothers and a sister, Brody Thompson, Brayden Matty and Madison Matty, all of Salem; his grandparents, Robert and Rita Matty, Salem, Matt and Jean Jeffries, Lamar, Mo. and Karen Brandell, Stockton, Mo.; a great-grandmother, Elvira Antell, Claremore, Okla.; uncles, Harry Matty, Salem, Jereme Brandell, Ory Jeffries and Dalton Brandell; aunts, Elie Maberry and husband Jordan, Amber Green and Sami Brandell; his godfather, Jeff Robe and wife Jenny, Stillwater, Okla. and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Heather Brandell; his nana, Patricia Matty and his grandfather, Dennis Brandell.

Mr. Matty was born Dec. 10, 1993, at Salem, to Michael Paul Matty and Heather Eve Brandell. He worked as a rancher, carpenter and could fix just about anything. He cherished his time spent with his family, fishing at the river, riding four wheelers, caring for animals, listening to good music and being on the ranch. He was a loving son, brother, grandson and friend to anyone he met.
