LAMAR- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home for Mary Ruth (Simpson) Costley, 93, Lamar, who died Monday, June 14, 2021, at Cox Barton County Hospital.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Oakton United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Survivors include five daughters, Jo Ann Harper, Lockwood, Sharon Crockett and husband David, Lamar, Connie Overstreet, Lamar, Donna Fanning and husband Larry, Lamar and Peggy Nottingham and husband Larry, Stockton; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and one on the way and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Johnny Simpson, Bobby Simpson and Jerry Simpson and two sons-in-law, Conrad Harper and Herb Overstreet.

Mrs. Costley was born April 15, 1928, in Fayette, to Robert and Helen (Reynolds) Simpson. She married Eugene “Gene” Costley on Dec. 26, 1948, in Fayette.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Oakton United Methodist Church. She had received Christ as her Savior at a young age. She always had a cup of coffee for whoever stopped by.
