EVERTON- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Mission Church in Greenfield for Barbara J. Cox, 90, Everton, who died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the St. Patrick Mission Church, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include her children, Doyle Cox, Bartlesville, Okla., Randy Cox and wife Patty, Dallas, Texas, Kevin Cox and wife Gabi, Fayetteville, Tenn., Judy Minor and husband Rod, Minneola, Kan. and Jim Cox, Everton and two sisters, Mary Machicao and husband Rick Warsaw and Glenda Doris and husband Jerry, Burlington, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy; brothers, Dennis Post, Donnie Post and Ronnie Post and a sister, Beverly Tabor.

Mrs. Cox was born April 28, 1932, in Syracuse, Kan., to Margaret “Lucille” (Bauer) and Lloyd Post. She attended school through the 11th grade but then studied hard and completed her GED. Together, she and her husband ran a trucking business for 25 years. She also worked for Trailiner for 18 years and sold Ava Care Cosmetics. She made many quilts and afghans. She belonged to the Futorum Club in Johnson, Kan. and loved to square dance. She stayed busy even in her later years, learning to play the organ, volunteering at Mercy Springfield Hospital and meeting with the Red Hat Society.
