LAMAR- A visitation and time of sharing memories will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home for Harvey Dean Brown, 84, Lamar, who died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, at his home in Lamar.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America.

Survivors include a son, Wayne Seaton, Lamar; daughters, Vickie Clark, Lamar, Verna Pennell and husband Robert, Lamar and Veronica Tucker and husband David, Hixson, Tenn.; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren with four great-great-grandchildren on the way and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was loved and will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his wife Fern (Mayes) (Seaton) Brown; a brother, Luther Allen Brown; a son, Dean Brown; two grandsons, one granddaughter and two great-great-granddaughters.

Mr. Brown was born March 24, 1938, in Lamar, to Luther and Lula “Fern” (Russell) Brown. He married Fern Mayes on Aug. 8, 1958.

He enjoyed golf, fishing, playing cards and loved going to the casino, but his favorite past time was playing pool and shuffleboard with friends.

He retired from the City of Lamar Sanitation, Street and Water Department after working there for 29 years. He was well known for his backhoe operating skills. He had also worked at O’Sullivan Industries, the salvage yard with his father and the gas station with his brother.
