WILMA “JEANNE” DAVIS

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar for Wilma “Jeanne” Davis, 80, who died. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.

Survivors include her siblings, William Davis and wife Darla, Lamar, Della Niehaus, New Whiteland, Ind. and Marie Adkisson, Johnston, Iowa and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Tracey Adkisson.

Ms. Davis was born July 31, 1942, in Creston, Iowa, to Helen (Brown) and Orie William Davis. She graduated from Creston High School in 1960 and attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, where she majored in music education. She had an artistic flair with crochet, floral arrangements and handcrafts. She enjoyed playing the organ, piano and her personal favorite was her accordion.

Ms. Davis owned a successful day care and loved them all like they were her own. She worked for Amoco Motor Club in West Des Moines, Iowa. When Amoco Oil moved, she decided to move south to warmer weather. She stayed a brief time in Lamar before settling in Dallas, Texas in 1995. She owned her own boutique, selling crafts and floral arrangements. She worked for Army & Air Force Exchange Service in Dallas, Texas until she retired in 2016. She returned to Iowa to live closer to her youngest sister and family.
