LAMAR- Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home for Ola Marie Best Textor, 79, Lamar, who died at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022. Graveside will follow at Lake Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Survivors include three children, Teresa Textor, Lamar, Dennis Textor and wife Tina, Fair Grove and Clifton Textor and wife Michelle, Houma, La.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Best and multiple nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sweetheart of 60 yers, Robert Burl Textor; an infant brother; her brother, Floyd Leon Best and a sister, Lois Best Babbs.

Mrs. Textor was born Sept. 6, 1943, the third of five children to Floyd and Georgia (Brown) Best, in Parin, Ark.

She was a faithful wife, loving mom, entertaining grandma, talented artist, horticulturist, compassionate pastor’s wife and prayer warrior.

The material for the screen will be installed late next week and hopefully, after some tweaking, the Barco will open May 3.

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger At the April 15 meeting of the Lamar City Council, Lamar resident Rocky McCulloch invited councilmen and the city administrator to take a tour of the pool facilities on Thursday, April 18, as Mason Banes with KC Gunite was going to do a walk through to see what repairs might entail. Several showed up to view the pools, as well as to hear possible solutions. Banes explained that he had to first find out if the damage was structural or plumbing related. Elaine McCulloch noted that hopes are to retain the outdoor lap pool and to redo the indoor pool so that it could serve as a children’s pool following the removal of the enclosure. Banes is to let the McCullochs, as well as the city, know what he would recommend and the cost it would entail.
