LIBERAL- A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Liberal City Cemetery for Reba Louise Rouse, 93, Liberal, who died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023.

The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, at Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Survivors include her daughters, Elaine Castagno and husband Leroy, Pittsburg, Kan. and Nancy Huser and husband Mark, Lockwood; grandchildren, Greg Williams and wife Sarah, Kristin Lea and husband James, Gwynne Findley and husband Ricky, Chance Dickey and wife Jordan, Robby Castagno and wife Carly and Andy Castagno and wife Brittany; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a daughter-in-law, Glenda Rouse and son-in-law, John Williams.

She was preceded in death by her husband; children, Rick Rouse and Cathy Williams; grandchildren, Kaleigh Williams and Chad Dickey and siblings, Arlene Fast and Harold Baker.

Mrs. Rouse was born July 11, 1929, in Hannon, to Iona (Ricketts) and Glenn Baker. She was a 1947 graduate of Liberal High School. She married Merle Rouse on Oct. 22, 1947, in Waldron, Ark. and they remained married until his death in 2006. After they married, they lived in Arcadia and then moved to the farm on NN Highway at Prairie Center Corner in 1959.

She was a member of Hannon Free Will Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and enjoyed the carry in dinners. For over 70 years she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 289, where she served in many positions as an officer and member. She also served at the state level. She was a cake baker and made many wedding cakes throughout her life. She was a patriotic, feisty lady who was loved and enjoyed by many.
