NEVADA, Mo.- A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Antioch Cemetery in Nevada, Mo., for Ricky Dale Kennedy, 64, Nevada, Mo., who died Friday, Sept. 4, 2020, at Freeman Health System in Joplin.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Those who wish may contribute in his memory to Kid’s For Christ Ministry of the Walker Christian Church in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Survivors include two daughters, Bridgetta Carsel and husband Tony, Lamar and Angela Berryhill and husband Corin, Lamar; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Carsel and wife Laura, Lamar, Austin Carsel and wife Jamy, Arlington, Texas, Addison Berryhill, Lamar and Mason Berryhill, Lamar; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Remmington; one brother, Walter “Dub” Kennedy, Walker and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Morris Mulkins and one sister, Sharon K. Wright.

Mr. Kennedy was born Dec. 9, 1955, in Nevada, Mo., to Walter Harold and Gwendolyn Leona (Morris) Kennedy. He was raised in the Metz area and graduated from Metz High School Class of 1973. He operated Double K Trucking for a number and years and had worked for Tim Forkner in the trucking business for the past 10 years. He liked to hunt and fish and was very active in Alcoholics Anonymous. He enjoyed helping people and was known by many to have a servant’s heart. He was a member of the Walker Christian Church.
