LAMAR- Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Daniel Funeral Home for Glenola June Sutherland, 82, Lamar, who died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. at North Greenlawn Cemetery in Springfield.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time, Monday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Harvey Sutherland; two sisters, Darlene Sitton of Lamar and Martha Bruffey, Kansas City, Kan.; two brothers, Wayne Bruffey of Everton and Keith Bruffey of Virginia, several loving nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Bruffey.

Mrs. Sutherland was born April 29, 1938, in rural Lamar, to Claude Goldman and Dorothy Lorene (Lucas) Bruffey. She attended rural grade schools and graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 1957. She married Harvey Sutherland on Aug. 8, 1958.

She was a very devoted homemaker and loved to help people in her jobs in retail stores, which included Roberts Department Store, The Rag Bag, Horton's Five & Dime, all in Lamar, as well as Flory's Drug Store in Nevada, Mo.

She loved to serve God by teaching children's Sunday school and Christian girl's camps. As her husband's career took them to different areas of Missouri, she had the privilege to serve in churches in Branson, Nevada, Fulton and Lamar.
