ALMA “LOU” SORRICK FISHER

GIRARD, Kan.- Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma for Alma Louise “Lou” Sorrick Fisher, 92, Girard, who died at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2021, at Westridge Assisted Living in Girard. Pastor Don Talent will officiate. Burial will be in the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral chapel.

Memorials are suggested by the family to the SKIL Resource Center, 1801 Main, Box 957, Parsons, Kan. 67357. Donations may be sent to the funeral home at 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Parsons, Kan. 66712 or to SKIL Resource Center in Parsons.

Survivors include two sons, David Sorrick and wife Marcia and Daren Sorrick, both of Pittsburg; a daughter, Tamara Wolsey and husband Norman, Scammon; four stepdaughters; a sister, Leola Allen, DeSoto; four brothers, Bill Fountain, Independence, Mo., Bob Fountain, Grove City, Ohio, Roy Fountain, Austin, Texas and Keith Fountain, Seiling, Okla.; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Don Sorrick and Harold Fisher; an infant son, Steven Alan Sorrick and a sister, June Russell.

Mrs. Fisher was born Sept. 16, 1928, at Canton, Okla., to Marvin and Mary Odessa (Goodman) Fountain. She was a homemaker and medical secretary and lived in the Croweburg, Arma and Girard area most of her life. She was raised in Southard, Okla. and graduated from Southard High School in 1946. She later attended Northwestern State College at Alva, Okla., from 1946 to 1949. She graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1981 with a degree in sociology and economics.

She married Donald Sorrick in 1950 at McPherson, Kan. He died July 7, 1999. She later married Harold Fisher in 2004 in Melbourne, Ark. He died in December of 2009.

She was a member of the Frontenac United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star at Arma.
