LOCKWOOD- Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Maple Grove Cemetery for Leota M. Queen, 85, Lockwood, who died Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility.

Services are under the direction of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maple Grove Cemetery and mailed to 369 Rt. VV, Lockwood, MO 65682.

Survivors include her son, Mike Queen and wife Lesa; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Queen; three grandchildren, Tara Carrier and husband Harry, Tana Foster and husband Mike and Daniel Queen and wife Leah; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Queen; one son, Lennis Queen; one brother, Donald Sorden and three sisters, Florence Tillery, Deloris Spain and Loretta Cornish.

Mrs. Queen was born Sept. 29, 1935, in Dade County, Mo., to Clarence and Otha (Sporman) Sorden. She was baptized at a young age and was a long time member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to Albert C. Queen on November 6, 1950 in Golden City.

Mrs. Queen worked as a librarian for 26 years at the Lockwood Library. She enjoyed helping all the children of the community that would come to the library and watching them prosper.
