WILLIAM “BILL” HEIM

NIXA- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Nixa for William “Bill” Heim, 67, Springfield, who died Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home in Nixa.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Howard Heim and five siblings, Kathy Pace and husband Joe, Lamar, George Heim and wife Debbie, Lamar, Tom Heim and wife Liska, Piceyune, Miss., Helen Mallory and husband Mike, Glendale, Calif. and Grace Heim, Augustenborg, Denmark, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Georgia Heim, Lamar.
Mr. Heim was born June 22, 1953, at Barton County Memorial Hospital and graduated with the class of 1972. He worked with Dan Paton and Bill Gardner, building homes in Lamar until 1981, when he and Jim Lisher established their own construction business in Springfield. After the death of his partner, he specialized in exclusive remodels and was sought after to work on the finer homes in Springfield.
Mr. Heim was an avid caver most of his adult life and helped to survey and map many of the cave systems in the Ozark area. He was a member of the Cave and Karet Society, the National Speleological Society and Mississippi Valley Ozark Region National Speleological Association. He greatly enjoyed these activities and spent much time exploring and conserving this underground habitat.
