COVID cases rocket

The Barton County Health Department has announced that the county had rocketed up into the top 10 for new cases this past week. However, it was noted that numbers did begin to come down towards the end of the week.

There are currently 40 active cases of COVID in the county, with 18 deaths and 1209 recovered, for a total number of 1297.

The new cases for the past seven days topped out at 41.

The remains of U.S. Army Cpl. Julius G. Wolfe, a soldier killed during World War II, were interred at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 5, at the Liberal City Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield.
