According to Barton County Health Department Administrator Joel Dermott, the past week has been a mixture of good and bad in regards to COVID. There were 27 new cases reported in the last seven days. Of those cases, 18 came from a congregate setting and four additional cases were linked to that same outbreak, according to Dermott. He added, “The cases are isolated from the general public”. He went on to mention that they also had an additional death released for the county, bringing the total to 25.
Dermott added, “The positive is that outside of the congregate outbreak, our case numbers in the county look very good.
To date the total number of COVID cases in the county is 1490; with 30 active cases and 25 deaths. There is a total of 1435 recovered, with 27 cases over the last week.
