LAMAR- Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Daniel Funeral Home for Kenneth Eugene Irwin, 82, Lamar, who died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021, at his home. Burial will follow in Newport Cemetery in Lamar.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Contributions are suggested to the family, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife Betsy, two sons, Kenneth Irwin Jr. and wife Kimberly and Jesse Irwin and wife Tula, all of Lamar; two daughters, Cindy Poe and husband Don, Carthage and Wendy Cameron and husband Larry, Lamar; nine grandchildren, Kenneth Irwin, William "Bill" Irwin, Kendall Irwin, Craig Irwin, Jory Irwin, Tierra Irwin, Ashley Gastel, Adam Hartman and Garrett Cameron; three step-grandchildren, Larry Cameron Jr., Sabrina Cameron and Levi Cameron; many great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna Horton and husband Allen, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Irwin and Thaddeus Irwin; four sisters, twins Vivian and Lillian Irwin, Marie Nichols and Irene Risner and one granddaughter, Sasha Irwin.

Mr. Irwin was born June 21, 1939, in Kenton, Ohio, to Marcus Dean and Easter M (Ison) Irwin. He married Betsy Ann Ross in Kalamazoo, Mich., on Dec. 21, 1957.

He worked as a skid steer operator for Pennington Seed, during his younger years he worked for several dairy farms across Michigan and Ohio and for most of his life he was an experienced backhoe operator, working across various states. He enjoyed playing pool and loved his horses and being around horses. He was also an amateur boxer and enjoyed watching boxing.
