SARAH HAMMOND
Sarah Violet Parr Hammond was born in Mountain View, California on August 4, 1965 to David Alan and Phyllis LaGean (Colaw) Parr. She passed away February 25, 2022 at her home with family by her side. She was 56 years old.
Sarah leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Bryce Hammond, at their home in Kansas City, Missouri. They were married on March 5, 1988 in Eureka, California. She also leaves behind her sister, Dava Parr, Eureka Springs, Arkansas, her brother Jon Parr and his wife, Zusje, Monterey, California, her nieces, Jessica Collins and her husband, Sean, and children Keenan, Morgan, Alicia, and Veyda, Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and Femke Balian and husband Everett, Santa Cruz, California, and her nephews Tjeerd Parr and Efan Parr, Monterey, California, and life long friend Shalisa Figas and her husband Bill, Bayside, California.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Julie Anna Weatherly.
Sarah was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and attended the Country Club Congregation in Kansas City. She enjoyed telling others about the wonderful promises that the Bible has in its pages.
Sarah was a bookkeeper. When she wasn't at work, she loved to work in her garden and really enjoyed traveling. She went to many different countries. She also was a skilled knitter. She truly enjoyed teaching others this wonderful craft. She also was very passionate about animals, especially her own dogs. She also used this passion to volunteer at Wayside Waifs in Kansas City.
A Memorial Service will be held on Zoom on March 26, 2022 at 3:00. Zoom login details can be obtained by contacting her husband at bryce_hammond@hotmail.com.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Sarah Cannon Fund at American Cancer Society in her name, or to Wayside Waifs in her name.
