Tim Forst Memorial Scholarship Fund awards $8,000 to LCTC students

The Tim Forst Memorial Scholarship Fund awarded $8,000 in scholarships to Lamar Career and Technical Center students from Lamar and Jasper. Since 2012, the family of the late Tim Forst has offered a $1,000 renewable memorial scholarship to graduating seniors who participate in the center’s Automotive Technology program. While the family’s emphasis remains with the Auto Mechanics program, this scholarship has since expanded to include Carpentry, Machine Tool Technology and Welding Technology students. The scholarships were presented at the Lamar Career and Technical Center’s awards ceremony held May 6, at Thiebaud Auditorium.
