FLOYD “ZEKE” MOORE

LAMAR- Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 28, at Daniel Funeral Home for Floyd Dale “Zeke” Moore, 93, Lamar, who died Saturday, April 23, 2022. Burial was at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lamar.

Masonic Rites were held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27 at the funeral home, prior to visitation which was held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to Good Shepherd Nursing Home, the American Cancer Society or the Lamar United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include one son, Floyd "Dale" Moore Jr. and wife Debra, Oronogo; three daughters, Susan Ball and husband Michael, Lamar, Sandra Harris, Lamar and Jeannie Gastel and husband James, Jasper; 11 grandchildren, Ben Ball, Brian Ball, Brad Ball, Mathew Harris, Hether DeFratus, Stephanie Page, Angie McGuire, Jessica Vaughn, Derek Moore, Cassie Welch and Matthew Robinson, along with 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Velda; three sisters, Eileen Moore, Mary Davis and Betty Boyd and two brothers, Wayne Moore and Don Moore.

Mr. Moore was born May 10, 1928 in Riverton, Neb., to Mallery David Moore and Chloa Emmaline (Banks) Moore. He graduated from Miller High School and on November 11, 1950, he married Velda Jean Voorhees in Granby.

He was a dairy farmer who also raised crops, cattle and hogs. He supported the Boston United Methodist Church. He loved to hunt, especially deer and also loved to camp. Family was always the most important thing to him and he treasured those special relationships.
