Lamar PBR 8 Second Chute Out coming to The Stompin’ Grounds

Professional bull riders will be at the Freeman Outdoor Event Center at The Stompin’ Grounds in Lamar on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 19 and 20, for the Lamar PBR 8 Second Chute Out. The show will be held at 8 p.m. each evening, with gates to open at 6:30 p.m. The Stompin’ Grounds is located on 2500 Harvest Road in Lamar, behind the Lamar Dairy Queen.

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger The Barton County Community Foundation featured Vintage Vegas on Saturday evening, April 13, at Thiebaud Auditorium in Lamar. During the festivities, Elaine Davis, left, president of Lamar Community Betterment, was awarded $1M from a private charitable fund, in order to purchase the old Redneck building at 1705 Gulf. The building will be used jointly by the newly formed Lamar YMCA and the Lamar R-1 School. Watch for more information in the April 24 edition of the Democrat. BCCF board member Nancy Curless, right, presented Davis with the check, along with a $5,000 check from the foundation.
