LOCKWOOD- Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the I.O.O.F. Christian Church Cemetery in Golden City for Etta Joyce Ogden, 92, who died at 12:52 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, at the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility.

Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m., at the Lockwood Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the I.O.O.F. Christian Church Cemetery in Golden City or to the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility in Lockwood.

Survivors include her seven children, Steve Ogden and wife Debbie, Lockwood, Brenda Kemp, Greenfield, Bob Ogden and wife Edie, Golden City, Linda Grant and husband Fred, Monett, Kenneth Ogden and wife Sherry, Lockwood, Craig Ogden and wife Carole, Gulf Breeze, Fla. and Cinda Lee and husband Steve, St. Louis; one sisters, Joan Miller, Carthage; 29 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Ogden; one brother, Dale Phipps; one sister, Janice McDaniel; one grandson; one great-grandson and one son-in-law, Bob Kemp.

Mrs. Ogden was born Sept. 14, 1930, in Dade County, to Eldon T. and Lillie Fern (Daughtrey) Phipps. She married Calvin Ogden on June 5, 1948 and tot his union seven children were born. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lockwood. She loved all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. As long as she was able, she went to everyone’s ballgames. She loved for her grandchildren to come through her door to get ready for their ballgames. She embroidered tea towels and made many embroidered baby quilts. She loved her family and always encouraged all to make her proud. She always told them, “You can accomplish anything if you set your mind to it.”
