She worked as an elementary school teacher for over 30 years, retiring from the Lamar R-1 School District in 2005. She was a member of Avilla Baptist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher, among many other capacities. Her faith in Jesus drove her to continue to serve wherever needed. Even after retiring she continued to stay active working with children all around her at church and a variety of different school capacities.
