Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow Lockwood senior Dylan Snider pitches to Liberal junior Justin Payne during Wednesday's Class 1 district title contest at Joplin. Liberal, the one seed, claimed their second straight championship with a 17-2 win over the two-seeded Tigers. Payne had a pair of hits and picked up the victory on the mound for Travis Walton's team. Liberal advanced to Monday's sectional at Billings. Look for further coverage of the Bulldogs' season in an upcoming issue of the Democrat.

The SW Select basketball team ended their season by winning the Kansas State Championship with a record of 21-1 in three tournaments, plus Kansas State. Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger A total of $3600 was raised at the car and jeep show held Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Lamar Christian Church Parking lot, with proceeds to benefit the new Barco Drive-In screen tower.
